I accidentally sent payment multiple times
Your extra payment went directly to the seller's payment account. Ask the seller to refund the extra amount.
Step 1: Check what you sent
- Your funds are not lost
- Note each payment amount and timestamp
Step 2: Contact the seller
- Contact them through your payment platform (Revolut chat, PayPal, Venmo, etc.)
- Explain that you accidentally sent multiple payments
- Provide details:
- The amounts sent
- The dates/times of each payment
- What you intended to send
Step 3: Request a partial refund
- Ask the seller to refund the extra amount
- Give them time to verify and process the refund
Step 4: If you can't reach the seller
- Open a support ticket with:
- Seller's username/payment ID
- All transaction amounts and timestamps
- Screenshots of each payment
- Peer Support will contact the seller on your behalf
To avoid this in the future:
- Wait for each transaction to complete before starting another
- Double-check amounts before confirming payment
- Don't refresh or restart if a transaction seems slow
